Heath of Coif salon
This guy is probably one of the best dressed men I have seen in Sacramento. He really knows his labels and I am proud that I picked him out of the crowd, especially since I was a few drinks deep. The thing that first caught my eye were his glasses. They looked so stellar and are made by Tom Ford (my fave for glasses and sunglasses!). The Helmut Lang jacket had a crazy strap across the hips which was interestingly cool. The v-neck tee is American Apparel (who else? ha!), the black jeans are Dior Homme and his shoes are made by Prada. Such a nice guy, such a fashion standout.

Sergio and Joyce
Remember these two? Sergio is here and Joyce is here. Two of my faves that I happened to run into when they were on their way to the Adrienne Cheng fashion show (which was beautiful, btw) at Lush on Second Saturday. I didn’t know they were friends but then again, the central city is pretty small. I love that Joyce paired a leather jacket with this cute dress. Better than that is the fact that she put a hot yellow tank underneath the purple dress making her look more colorful and that much more interesting. Sergio’s cropped leather motocycle jacket is amazing and looks perfect on him. He picked that up at Thrif Town on Stockton Blvd, and the white dress shoes he found in LA somewhere on Melrose Ave.

Benson, facilities manager
He was straight out of the office on this day, and I think this is a great look either in the office or out. Are sweater vests stuffy? I like them. Both the shirt and sweater vest were bought at Banana Republic. I like the suttle pattern on his shirt and the almost orange leather dress shoes. Everything seems to fit him rather well.

This has nothing to do with street style but I don’t care – its a great idea! Hunt the Grid sounds like so much fun! I have to participate. Who is with me? Road dawgs?

Paulette, interioir designer
Her top is so geometrically stunning I had to talk to her about it. She purchased it at a store called Mix in San Francisco and it is made by Anett Rostel, a German designer. I am not sure if its a shirt, cape or jacket. Either way it’s wonderful. If you haven’t heard yet, 1980′s inspired fashions are supposedly making a comeback. Paulette is rocking the ever so fab hammer pants, which are cinched at the ankle and are loose throughout the calf and thigh. They are usually made out of lightweight flowy fabrics such as cotton or linen. I love these on her – especially paired with this dramatic top and simple pointed pump. These pants were bought in Venice, Italy and are made by Gaetano Navarra. Check out his website to take a peek at his Spring/Summer 2009 Women’s line. Hammertime! Kidding aside his work is very beautiful. Thank you to Paulette for adding some major flair to my Second Saturday. So fashion forward and gorgeous.

Stunning. I am amazed by this. I had no idea this was going on the 1980s, and I honestly I can’t think of a better time and place for this idea to come to fruition. Thank you Gianni for sharing this with me.

What a great example of knowing what looks good on your body and going for it. This simple cotton t-shirt dress is from Target and it fits her really nicely. She got the gold rose brooch and bracelet from her grandmother.

Marika and Caroline, retail managers
These two work together at the Boulder Buffalo Exchange, and judging from the way they look I wish I would have made it over there! Marika’s badass 90′s watch is bigger than life and I love the fact that it doesn’t work at all but she still rocks it. It’s always 5 O’clock somewhere, right? Her shoes are Prada and the purse is from Zara (a fab and fairly affordable store – I think the closest one to us is in SF). I loved her hat so much that I ran out to Cuffs when I got back to Sac and bought one just like it for summer. Caroline is wearing a Calvin Klein trapeze dress and a DKNY sweater. Her purse is gorgeous too but I forgot to ask her who made it. Last but not least are her dramatic feather earrings which she makes by hand and that I hope will soon be available for purchase at her Etsy site. So stunning.

She has so many layers on it’s crazy! The orange leather, fur-lined vest was bought in Mexico, and the shirts and scarf were gifts. She purchased her skirt at the Shambhala Mountain Center up the street. This reminds me that there are a lot of followers of Buddhism in Boulder. Which doesn’t surprise me, as everyone I talked to that weekend was super genuine. And I witnessed more than one random act of kindess between strangers, which was really refreshing.
