Such a dramatic choice that I really appreciate. She didn’t know what kind of fur coat this was but I think it was ermine. Do you guys remember House of Furs on Capitol? I loved to get buzzed into that place and touch everything in sight. I miss it.

  1. FUR is MURDER!

  2. SHAME!

  3. i’ve been into a house of furs on broadway…but i think that was a..um..different place.

  4. I’m sorry but I’m gonna have to agree with Joe on this one…she looks horrific!

  5. That’s not ermine, which is white with black spots. I don’t know what it is though!

I don’t have a problem with vintage fur. Better on a person than in a landfill, right?

  6. I believe all ermine have white fur on their tummies, but most have brown backs. I may still be wrong, but it really does remind me of a coat owned by my 95 year old co-worker from Sebastopol, Mary.

  7. fur, murder, murder, fur…
i have to agree with april up there, better on a person than in a landfill, and it looks like it’s been well cared for, i’m just thinking it’s interesting that she’s wearing it with jeans, if i were a chick and i had a coat like this i don’t know that i would, whatever tho…
and it’s not ermine, it’s too full and thick, i always think of the da vinci painting ‘lady with an ermine’, he didn’t like her, and you can tell by the way he painted her hand, she looks like she’s gonna wring that little ermine’s neck…
i remember house of furs too, you could have your furs stored there in rooms that were of the proper temperature and humidity, a fur coat will last forever if cared for properly.
my favourite is the persian lamb, it’s black and all convoluted and it curls in on itself all kinky and freaky, it looks wonderful paired with a black silk moire for that super lush pattern-on-pattern effect that any decent sartorialist should be a fan of…
yeah, this chick needs to lose the jeans with this coat fer sure…
her sunglasses are way cool. are they purple?

  8. ohhahah! It’s me, the girl in the picture. So, it took me awhile to remember that I let you put me on your blog mz. sactorialist. Anyways, this fur was sitting on a rack in Deseret Industries. I’m not one to be ALL about fur but I tried it on, I liked it, I bought it and I wear it. FUR is murder, I can’t argue with that. But all I could say is that it is used, the money I paid for it went to a good cause and I wear it often and take care of it well. I thanked the animal for letting me use it’s fur.

Perhaps that doesn’t mean anything to anyone, but it is what it is.

I am wearing jeans because I was running errands and in a rush and it was a little cold so I threw this on me. I have a blog:

p577.wordpress.com and you can see I make some good choices, haha. anyway, peace out!
