I must confess, one of my fave places to shop for a great deal is not locally owned. Boo and hiss all you want, I just can’t lie about my love for Nordstrom Rack. Where else can you find a Diane von Furstenburg dress for close to $100 dollars? Or as my girlfriend Emily can attest, a Marc Jacobs blouse for $17 bucks? Granted these may be rare finds, but if you’ve got the time and the will to sort through the racks and racks of clothes, shoes, accessories and handbags this place you cannot miss!

A major reason why the Rack appeals to me is because I am passionate about well made clothes and fine fabrics. And since I don’t make seven figures, I can’t afford most of the brands or designers I adore. The Rack reconciles this dillema for me as they offer well made shoes by Bruno Magli and Stuart Weitzman, clothes from the collections of Tory Burch and Michael Kors, as well as accessories, handbags and undergarments from many other international designers.

On a recent visit to the Rack I scored an awesome pair of electric blue tights by designer Betsey Johnson for the bargain price of $8. The best part about the tights is the rhinestone heart on the left buttcheek – so sassy! These tights originally sold for $35 dollars at Nordstom stores, and I must say I love how they keep the original price on the tag! One tip I will offer is to go to the Rack right when it opens (10am on weekends). This way every item is in its proper place for organized access, the checkout line is short and there is barely anyone in the store – can you say Rock Star parking?
